Coginchaug Summer Soccer Camps!!

Coginchaug Soccer Club is pleased to announce partnership with Challenger Sports, providers of North America’s most popular soccer camps, to host two week long Soccer Camps - British Soccer will run July 16th - 20th & Tetra Brazil will run August 13th - 17th both at Peckham Park, 161 Strickland Road, Middlefield, CT, 06455.

Each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s international coaching staff flown into North America exclusively to work on these programs. This year Challenger will hold over 3,500 Soccer Camps this summer and will coach over 150,000 players between the ages of 3 and 18, as well as completing FREE coach education clinics for over 40,000 parents and coaches.

Challenger’s Soccer Camps are more than a week of drills and skills. In addition to taking part in a daily regimen of foot skill development (through the 1,000 touches curriculum), technical and tactical practices and daily ‘World Cup’ tournament style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. Challenger will consult Coginchaug Soccer Club on the camp, as each camp is custom built to meet the needs of the players.

Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website. In addition, any child who signs up online by June 1st &/Or June 29th will receive a genuine British Soccer replica Jersey for just the cost of the shipping… (valued at $39).

Play Soccer Train for Soccer Compete in Soccer
The best teacher of the game is the game itself. Our Academy Staff create environments which encourage, creativity, experimentation, enjoyment, fun, a quality learning experience and a love for the game.

This area of development is aimed at players from the ages of 2 through 5 who are new to the game of soccer and formulating the building blocks along with a love and passion for the game.

Our Academy Staff train your players technically and tactically over the course of the season, implementing professional training sessions developing their skills and preparing them for future challenges and competition.

This area of development is aimed at players from 6 through 14 and its focus is based on high quality coaching sessions offering and working towards a technical proficiency and a desire to improve.

Our Academy Staff will develop your players current levels from a technical, tactical, physiological and psychological standpoint as your teams improve to compete at State, Regional and even National Levels!

This is the pinnacle of our philosophy and is aimed at challenging players aged from 15 through 19 to be the best that they can be and preparing the players for college and further playing experiences.

BECOME A REFEREE - GET PAID!!

UPDATED FOR  Spring 2018  !!!

Are you interested in becoming a referee?
Online classes for new refs are now open and end 3/18/18

The club pays $20 - $50 per game and it's a great way to be involved and learn more about the game.

To enroll in this training you must be 13 years old by December 31, 2017.  Parents and any adult are also encouraged to certify! if you become a ref this spring, your liscence will be good until the end of 2018

The club will provide a bonus to any new ref from Durham or Middlefield who refs 8 games in  2018 (any level of games) equal to the tuition of the referee class

Training is done via online self taught sessions followed by an online open book test. Once the online session is completed, you will need to register for 2 sessions. The first session is a classroom session, the second a field session, both are taught by CJSA instructors. Each session is 3 hours, most sessions are held on the same day back to back. See the www.ctreferee.net website  for full instructions

IF you become a Referee:

The club will work around your schedule: you will not be forced to choose between playing and referee'ing. You will work only when you are available

If you think you could be an AR but not sure about becoming a center, that is fine, every game needs 2 AR's and 1 center, some ref's specialize in   being AR's and rarely center a game. You will not be given a center until you feel you are ready

You can only be a center for age groups 2 yrs younger than you, so if you are 14 yrs old, you can only center u12 and under games

You can only be  AR games for  age groups 1 yr younger than your age

For more information on the program, visit www.ctreferee.net

For specific questions, please contact CSC Referee assignor John Bugai at
